This historic pub is regarded as one of the best in the Peak District. Situated just off the Monsal Trail, the pub is surrounded by some of the most striking scenery the Peaks have to offer. Settle down by one of our three open fires or linger outside in our covered & heated pergola to enjoy real ales and tasty food locally sourced by the landlord. Muddy boots, kids and dogs are all welcome.

Our aim is to deliver a taste of the Peak District to you whenever you visit.
We source all of our food locally to bring you meat, game, breads & cheeses from the best producers in Derbyshire and we change our menu on a monthly basis to ensure we deliver the best seasonal produce to you every time

Serving a wide range of cask ales and lagers, the Packhorse Inn is a fantastic place to come for a good honest pint. Black Sheep is a regular feature, and local beers include cask ales from the Thornbridge Brewery in Bakewell.
We always have three Thornbridge beers on including the award winning Jaipur pale ale and a fourth guest beer. We also have a sixth hand pull which features regularly changing still ciders.
The wine list is changed seasonally with the help of our friends at Hattersley Wines in Bakewell. We aim to pair our wines with our menu changes. A full range of spirits is also available.

We are looking for a Commis chef to join our team, our kitchen is hugely busy for it's size, and our menu changes monthly so there are great opportunities to learn.
We are also looking for a bar person; someone to take the reigns on our cellar and ease us into busy services.

We are closed Monday - Wednesday and we open at 5pm Thursday- Friday. We are open from 12pm Saturdays and Sundays
